چکیده

Contribution structures offer a way to model the network of people who have participated in the requirements engineering process. They further provide the opportunity to extend conventional forms of artifactbased requirements traceability with the traceability of contributing personnel. In this paper, we describe a case study that investigated the modelling and use of contribution structures in an industrial project. In particular, we demonstrate how they made it possible to answer previously unanswerable questions about the human source(s) of requirements. In so doing, we argue that this information addresses problems currently attributed to inadequate requirements traceability.

Reconstructing Requirements Traceability in Design and Test Using Latent Semantic Indexing

Managing traceability data is an important aspect of the software development process. In this paper we define a methodology, consisting of six steps, for reconstructing requirements views using traceability data. One of the steps concerns the reconstruction of the traceability data. We investigate to what extent Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), an information retrieval technique, can help recov...

Mining Requirements Links

[Context & motivation] Obtaining traceability among requirements and between requirements and other artifacts is an extremely important activity in practice, an interesting area for theoretical study, and a major hurdle in common industrial experience. Substantial effort is spent on establishing such links, and keeping them up to date, in any large project – even more so when requirements refer...

Requirements Analysis and Traceability at CIM Level

Poernomo suggested an approach for requirement analysis within the CIM level of the MDA framework. His approach combined MEASUR, goal and object oriented analysis, and developed a new methodology that can be integrated within the CIM level of the MDA. This paper adds requirement traceability capabilities to the method developed by Poernomo and applies the extended method on a case study based o...

On the Influence of Models-to-Natural-Language Transformation in Traceability Link Recovery among Requirements and Conceptual Models

Recovering traceability links between software artifacts and requirements is a common task in Software Engineering. Information Retrieval (IR) techniques have been applied to recover traceability links amongst code and requirements. By transforming Models into Natural Language (M2NL), it is possible to apply IR to calculate their traceability links to requirements. However, results retrieved by...

Extending i* to Fit with the Requirements World

Whilst the i* approach has been applied to case studies for some time, its wider uptake in industrial requirements processes and projects necessitates integration with established methods and techniques. However, there has been little reported integration. This paper will report how i* has been integrated into a wider scenario-based requirements process, and summarize industrial uses of i* on a...
